Chief Of Police Endorses Kirby For Sauk County Sheriff

 I first met Aaron Kirby when he was a police officer with the Edgerton Police Department. Over the past 29 years, I have had the opportunity to know Aaron both professionally and personally. It did not take long for me to realize that Aaron was not your typical rookie officer. He possessed a strong work ethic, genuine compassion for others, and a dedication to public service that immediately stood out.

Based on what I observed in his performance and in the way he interacted with members of the public, I offered Aaron a position with the Town of Milton Police Department. He faithfully served our community whenever his schedule allowed and consistently demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and commitment.

When Aaron’s position in Sauk County was eliminated for what many recognized as political reasons, I reached out and offered him a position so he could maintain his law enforcement certification. Once again, he stepped up and continued serving until 2014, when he made the decision to focus more on his family while raising his children.

Throughout my career, I worked with numerous sheriffs, chiefs, and law enforcement leaders. Aaron possesses a quality that is difficult to find, an ability to communicate with people, earn their trust, and build confidence without allowing ego to get in the way. That combination of humility, leadership, and accountability is rare in law enforcement and is exactly what makes an effective sheriff.

Although I do not live in Sauk County, if I did, I would feel confident and secure knowing Aaron Kirby was serving as Sheriff. He is a no-nonsense leader whose focus is on the citizens and the employees he serves. He believes in straightforward leadership, accountability, and doing what is right rather than what is politically convenient.

In my opinion, Sauk County is in need of a significant change in leadership style. What makes Aaron unique in this race is that he is the only candidate without ties to the current administration. Opportunities like this do not come along often in sheriff’s elections. The other Republican candidates have spent their careers under the leadership and influence of the current administration. Aaron offers voters a genuine opportunity for a fresh start and a new direction.

I encourage the voters of Sauk County to carefully consider the future of their Sheriff’s Office. If you are looking for transparency, accountability, and a sheriff who will put both citizens and employees first, I believe Aaron Kirby is the right choice.

Vote Kirby on August 11 and November 3.
